My Longest Dive

Shooting

Set in the sun-bleached village of Dahab, Egypt, this documentary follows Saddam Killany—Guinness World Record holder, eccentric inventor, and self-proclaimed superhero—as he chases fame through extreme diving feats and bizarre stunts. Known for his underwater paintings and ill-fated inventions, Saddam’s obsession with heroism drives a wedge between him and his family, including his estranged daughters and ex-partner. Despite repeated record attempts and failed relationships—including a dramatic fallout with his 15th fiancée—Saddam spirals into isolation and denial.

A visit to his troubled brother near the Suez Canal forces Saddam to confront his past, his failures, and the emotional cost of his grand ambitions. Realizing that his thirst for fame has come at the expense of those he loves, he begins a slow transformation. Turning his energy toward local environmental efforts in Dahab, Saddam finds purpose in community service rather than public spectacle.

But the deepest dive remains: reconnecting with his daughters, Dasha and Kira. Through sincere messages and emotional outreach, he begins to rebuild trust. In a moving finale, a long-awaited reunion offers hope that even the most flawed of dreamers can change. This is a story about ego, redemption, and discovering what it truly means to be a hero.
